• What is TMS?

  Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation is a non-invasive, medication free treatment option Open Minds offers to gently activate key areas of the brain that are under-active in people with depression. Over time, TMS treatments help address imbalances in neurotransmitters in the brain that help regulate mood, which alleviates symptoms of depression.

• How Does TMS Help?

  TMS is a unique very unique treatment experience! Many of our patients have had great success using TMS and have shared they wish this was more known about so they could feel understood. Research has shown over and over that having a healthy support network can significantly improve mental health in general, including depression! Our TMS support group offers our patients an opportunity to connect with others at Open Minds who have gone through or are going through treatment themselves. What’s more is your group leaders have also experienced TMS treatments!

• What to Expect in the TMS Support Group?

  Our TMS group will offer a laid-back environment where you can connect with peers who have traveled the road of healing from depression using TMS therapy. We will discuss topics each session related to TMS, recovery, and what it’s like to live life after treatment without the symptoms of depression! We will share stories and you will have the opportunity to make connections that you can take with you beyond Open Minds!
