I hope clients develop new perspectives and ways of thinking that help them manage stressful situations. What do you love most about working with your clients?
My approach to self-care involves taking care of my mind, body, and spirit. I keep my brain active through healthy and stimulating activities. I aim to walk an average of one mile per day and spend time in the sunlight daily. My Christian spiritual health is also important to me. I nurture it through daily Bible reading and verse memorization, Bible studies, worship, prayer, devotions, meditation, and faith-based inspirational and devotional writings. What's your go-to form of self-care?
What drew you to the field of mental health?
The way people think fascinates me! If you can change the way a person thinks, you can change the way they feel. If you can change the way a person feels, you can change the way they behave. Helping people think differently can lead to profound, positive changes in their mood and behavior, ultimately contributing to improved well-being.What populations do you specialize in?
Adults with psychological and mental health concerns. What therapeutic modalities do you use?
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
- Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT)
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
- Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD
- Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I)
What's a small thing that brings you joy?
The “aha” moment when someone develops an important new insight about themselves that helps them move forward in a positive direction. What's one thing you wish everyone knew about mental health?
We are all unique! Everyone has their own ways of thinking that can positively or negatively affect their mental health. Mental health is not inherently negative; it can be a positive aspect of our lives. When certain patterns of thinking become challenging, they can be modified to become more helpful, positive, and life-sustaining.What People Say
