  • About Ashley Ramirez

I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with experience caring for individuals across a wide range of mental health needs. After earning my PMHNP in 2023, I spent nearly three years working in a high-acuity inpatient psychiatric setting, where I gained valuable experience treating complex mental health conditions and supporting individuals during some of their most difficult moments. I have since transitioned into outpatient private practice, where I enjoy building lasting therapeutic relationships with my patients. My approach to care is compassionate, collaborative, and individualized. I believe each person deserves to feel heard, respected, and comfortable discussing their concerns without judgment. My goal is to create a supportive environment where patients feel able to open up, actively participate in their treatment, and work with me to develop a plan that fits their individual needs. Patients can expect open communication, thoughtful medication management, and a partnership focused on meaningful, realistic goals. Ultimately, I hope each patient leaves feeling supported, understood, and empowered to work toward improved mental health and a better quality of life.

  • What do you hope clients take away from working with you?

I hope patients leave each visit feeling heard, understood, and supported. I want them to feel comfortable being open and honest about what they are experiencing and to better understand their mental health, treatment options, and plan of care. Most importantly, I hope they feel that we are working together as a team and leave feeling encouraged, empowered, and hopeful about moving toward better mental health and quality of life.
  • What do you love most about working with your clients?

  • What's your go-to form of self-care?

As a busy mom of three, my favorite form of self-care is making the most of the time I have with my kids. I love traveling with them, being involved in their sports, spending time outdoors, and trying new things together. For me, self-care is about stepping away from work, being present, having fun, and making memories with the people who mean the most to me.
  • What drew you to the field of mental health?

Throughout my nursing career, I have always felt a strong connection to mental health care and to individuals seeking support during some of the most difficult times in their lives. I saw a growing need for accessible, compassionate mental health services and wanted to help people receive the care they deserve. I value that mental health care is not one-size-fits-all. Every person has a different story, experiences, and goals. Taking the time to truly understand each patient, individualize treatment, and help them work toward a better quality of life is what drew me to this field and continues to make this work meaningful to me.
  • What populations do you specialize in?

I don’t limit my practice to one specific population. I enjoy working with individuals with a variety of mental health needs and from many different backgrounds and stages of life. I believe everyone deserves to feel heard and supported, and my goal is to meet each person where they are.
  • What therapeutic modalities do you use?

My approach is individualized and collaborative, incorporating supportive therapy, motivational interviewing, CBT-informed techniques, psychoeducation, solution-focused interventions, and trauma-informed care. I also believe in shared decision-making and working together to develop realistic treatment goals.

  • What's a small thing that brings you joy?

Hearing my kids laugh and enjoying the little everyday moments with them. No matter how busy life gets, those are the moments that bring me the most joy.
  • What's one thing you wish everyone knew about mental health?

Mental health is not one-size-fits-all. What works for one person may not work for another, and finding the right path can take time. Asking for help is an important step toward improving your life, and everyone deserves to feel heard, understood, and supported while finding the treatment that works best for them.
